CATALAN STATE
GRANT OF AUTONOMY.
LONDON, September 28.
By the Catalan Statute, passed by the Cortes, says the Madrid correspondent of “Tlie Times,” a new autonomous State will be constituted. It will consist of the north-eastern group of provinces, Barcelona-, Tarragona, Lerida, and Geroiia as an autonomous State, but the Republic retains control of foreign affairs and the right to intervene in questions of public order. These States have long been the storm centre of Spain.
