CONCILIATION
ENGINEERING TRADES. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) WELLINGTON, October 5. The dispute of the amalgamated engineering allied trades industrial association workers and New Zealand motor trade association and others was reheard to-day in the Conciliation Council On the application of the union. The wages proposals of the employers to ; fdrm a basis' of discussion are. Motor mechanics 1/10 per hour, assemblers 1 /Bi, improvers first year 1/7, second year 1/8, assistants over a o years’ period:’ 12/6, 20/-, 25/-, 32/6, 40/-. The employers are also proposing to certificate mechanics by examination and to enable the union’s assessors to confer privately on this, the meeting has been adjourned till this afternoon'.
