She 1 suffered ' damage to her forward oil tafik and several other compartments. > After having called at Ford’s Harbour to re-embark camp parties and, as far as possible, ascertain the full extent of the damage, the Challenger will ■ proceed tC St. John’s, Newfoundland. H.'M.S. -Heliotrope hfts been ordered to proceed to the place and stand by. The 'survey on which the Challenger was engaged is i n connection with the opening of the Hudson's Bay route, and the area in which she was working is quite unexplored.
