AUCKLAND SENTENCES. (Per Press Association— Copyright.) ' AUCKLAND, October 3. Two years’ reformative detention was the sentence passed by Justice Smith ♦n Frederick Deutchar McVay, until recently secretary of Takapuna Jockey Club who stole £644 of the club’s funds. His counsel said McVay intended, on his release, - to lead & fresh life and live down the past. SUvSTEN AN CE ALLOW ANCE. AUCKLAND, October 3. Early last month the Unemployment Board reduced the allowance payable to men for whom work couild not be found, and announced that all sustenance allowance would cease ait the end of the month. However, this instruction has apparently been reviewed as the sustenance allowance, all cash, is still being paid by the Labour Department in Auckland.
