Tlie Governor forecasted a record crop of sugar in 1932 of 180 thousand tons of sugar, twice the 1931 output. Copra is again on a paying basis and the estimated output for 1932 is one ■third in excess of 1932. The estimated revenue for 1933 is £568,350 and expenditure £553,132. The Government are endeavouring to raise the standard of the quality of copra. There are good results from Fiji’s participation in the 'Ottawa exhibition in August. A number of ininquiries have been made for Fiji products. .

The first half of the-Colony’s new loan of £160,000 Was issued in London in July at 104, at four per cent. The loan was not guaranteed by the Imperial Government. The balance- of the Doan will he issued shortly. The Governor .is leaving Fiji on November 18th. for a seven .months vacation. 'Seymour will administer the colony in his absence. i
