TRIPS TO THE MOON
ROCKET EXPERIMENTS. ~ BERLIN, September 26. What Dr: Johannes Winkler calls the “preliminary leap on the voyage to the moon” will be taken next week. He will fire a rocket into space in the vicinity of JPillau, on the Frischenehrung, a narrow isthmus on the eastern border of the Danzig Bight. Liquid air will propel the rocket, which is 6ft Gin long. It is expected .to achieve a record altitude and penetrate tjie strathosphere, , being capable of rising six miles in lmin 40sec. Dr. Winkler says that this is the forerunner of larger rockets, capable of carrying a man to the moon in four days. He contends that,: by means of the rocket, the moon will be as easily attainable as the United States.
