Dohy,Bradman’s application to be allowed ro fulfil the terms of his contract, portion of which binds him to write for the Associated Newspapers Limited 1 , has- been refused by tine Cricket Board of Control.
Bradman pointed out that he could not truthfully say that his sole occupation was journalism, in which event he would escape the player-writer ban. He was a; party to another contractto a sports good firm, by whom lie was part-time employed. He, insisted tuat he must be able to fulfil the terms of his contract, which lie " made at a time when he had -received a lucrative otter to play in England.
The Association Newspapers n-ct. have offered to release Bradman from the writing contract on the subject of first class cricket.
