Albert Henry O’Malley, aged 57, a labourer was committed for trial on a charge of uttering a counterfeit coin knowing it to be counterfeit, and of having another in his possession. Both co’ins were half-crowns. BETTING FINE. WELLINGTON, September 29. In his reserved judgment, Mr Page, ■S.jM., convicted George Harold Bennett, aged 40, a barman, of using a private bar of the Alhambra -Hotel for the purposes of .bejtting, and fined him £ls. The fine may be paid at the rat 6 of '£l per week;'" theft charges. ROTORUA, September 29. Described by t'he police as a nuisance around camps, Albert Thomas Sims Evans, 22, employed by the State Forest Service,' Kaiiigaroa Plains, pleaded guilty to half a dozen charges of theft from his mates in the camp, including two (robberies from postal packets.
