MOUNTED POLITE CONTROL. (British Official Wireless.) :- RUGBY, September 27. Mounted police were yesterday posted 1 , for traffic control at five different points in the West End of London, they taking the place of the foot policemen for the first time. It is claimed' t'hat the mounted officers will have an. advantage over the foot policemen at certain points, because they have a more coinmanding view of the traffic, and’ can' be more easily seen, by the drivers. It is not intended to posemounted men at the busiest sentres.
