AIUSSOLINI COVETS DESIGN. LONDON, August 13. Six British sportsmen have formed a financial guarantee circle lor the building of a ,successor to Segrave’s Golden Arrow.
Tiie car which will be fitted with a single Rolls-Royce Schneider aerc trophy engine of 2200h.p. will have a maximum speed of 375 m.p.h. and a written guaranteed average speed of 825 m.p.h. over the measured mile .at Daytona, Florida. The machine will be uncapsizable. Captain •). S. Irving, the creator of the Golden Arrow, is the designer. Prominent people in the events leading to the present position are: A British baron, with large shipping bank, steel and other interests. Lady Houston, who contributed £IOO,OOO for the defence of the Schneider Trophy, which was won by R.A.F. officers piloting her ’planes. Signor Mussolini, who covets speed records for Italy.

When Sir Malcolm Campbell raised the record from 245 to 254m.p.b., IrVing began the design of a car to travel at 375m.p.b.
