ASHBURTON, September 23.
As the result of ia motor-ear capsizing on the -main highway two miles south of Hinds at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday, Miss Ethel Bartlett, aged twentytwo, of Waverley Street, Dunedin, and Maurice New,ton West, aged twentyone, /of Anderson’s Eiay Road, Dunedin, driver of the car, were admitted to the Ashburton County Hospital, both suffering from lacerated scialp wounds and shock. Date last evening their condition was reported to he satisfactory. 1 Two passengers, who wene in the back seat, Charles Edward Snell, Dunedin, and John Finlay son, Picardy Street, Miornington, (©soaped with bruises anldi la sever© shaking. The car, an English sedan, was badly damaged. Tire accident was attributed to the car striking a ridge of shingle. The party was .travelling to Christchurch from Dunedin.
