The Government today aiinoun-ciad its -acceptance of the, proposal for the ce.sat-ion of hqs? ti'lities- in the disputed Gran Cbjifo. region under conditions which will be, supervised by an American neutral commission. *
The conditions under which fighting between Bolivian and Paraguayan forces would oease were approved in the reply sent to the Commission in Washington.
They were: The immeditae withdrawal of armies; the complete demiljtaiization of Chaco within two or three weeks; the acceptance.of both Bolivia land Paraguay for a reduction in military effectives to the minimum required for internal security. The reply said that Paraguay was leaving the- settlement of the dibpute in the hands of international justice.
Almost simultaneously with this announcement came a bulletin from the Ministry of War that -the Paraguay forces in the Chaco and repelled! a Bolivian drive. Another bulletin said they had prevented the escape of the hieseiged Bolivian garrison at the fort.
