MINERS’ ATTACK
UPON LOW-WAGE WORKERS.

SPRINGFIELD (Illinois), Sept. 26. As thlie culmination of the .recent labour disorders at Benton, one thousand unemployed minors attacked one hundred workers who had accepted a reduced wage.
Many shots were fired. One peace officer was killed. A score or more men on both sides were injured, many of them seriously.
