GAOL FOR ASSAULT
STRANGE SCENE IN O'OUKT. ■' (Per Press Association— Copyright.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 26. Thg police court was startled this morning at the sight of an 'accused man dramatically dropping to his knees iu the docks, clasping his hands above his head, and calling on God to' be his judge.
‘‘l am going to be vour judge,” said' the Magistrate, Mr F. D. Mosley. ■ The man in the dock, George Perciva] Williams, aged 41, a carrier, was charged with drunkeness, committing mischief and assaulting a constable. He was sentenced to three months' gaol ■ ,
