QUESTION OF THEIIt CONTROL. (Australian Press Association.) - SYDNEY, September 25. A conference of the transport authorities of Newt South Wales and Victoria will shortly discuss a proposal whereunder the border railways, agreement is to be extended to permit Victoria to take over and work about one hundred and fifty miles of> the New South Wales railways from Tocumwal to Narrandera and district.
If this arrangement is is completed, the lines in these areas will be changed to the wider Victorian gauge. The locality is considerably nearer Melbourne than Sydney, and lower freights could be -charged on the Riverina produce for shipment oversea.
