’ The Metropolitan market at Aldington on/ Wednesday was a highly satisfactory sale for tellers, the principal sections showing either a rise or equality with last week’s prices. An advance of up to 35s a head occurred in the fat cattle pens, this rise making the total improvement well over £3 for the last fortnight. Eeief reached prices that have not been known at Addington since last spring. Thet of cijittle wns of medium size, and of good quality, and met a good demand throughout the sale. The fat sheep entry was substantially smfaUer than that of the previous week, but was <Vf high general quality, southern fatteners again contributing to l the excellent appearance of the offering. Fast week s rates were maintained for ewes, and wethers were a- little dearer. Spring lambs, which were penned in smaller numbers, met a good demand at an advance of 2s a head. The price per pound was from .d to B|d. Fat hoggets were in keen demand in spite of a larger ,entry, ia.nd last week’s rates were fully m/hintainod. The usnail poor selection of veal came forward, and sold at rates about equal to those obtained at the previous sale. Fat pigs sold at last week’s level of values.
