THEFT CHARGES

PREFERRED AGAINST TWO MEN. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) WELLINGTON, September 23. Believing that the evidence in the breaking and enttering charges brought against Edwin George Valentine Roberts, aged 23, and Raymond Patrick Letton aged 26, required consideration by a jury, Mr Pago, S.M., decided to send the two men to the Supreme Court for trial.

Roberts and Letton were charged with breaking and entering the shop of Lauchlans, Ltd., Courtenay Place, and stealing jewellery to the value of £317 19s 6d. Letton was further charged with breaking and entering the warehouse of Schneideman and Sons, Ltd., and stealing clothing to a total value of £l2l 15s. Both accused pleaded not guilty.
