CATTLE PRICES RISE. CIiIUSTCHUIICH, September 22. -A. further increasein the price of beef was noted at the Addington sale yesterday, when values reached levels higher than;they have been this year. Spring,-.lambs sold well at an advance over last, week’s rates. ■■ v :s?T{ie yarding of store sheep was the smallest for some weeks, and was generally ppa.ttractive. Values wei;e, liule changed,, ~ ,// v , , ■ ■ The entry of fat cattle was again aiupoclerate one, comprising 310 head, Compared with 212 last week. Exee.iit fpr’ odd - truck lots from the south and the Coast,-the entry was' comprised of locaK cattle. The small entry met witli’iS sharp ,advance in prices, from the outset the values being better than at ; any., sale since last spring. For good bhef the advance was equal to 30s tq 35s .per-; head, and for lighter weights to -3Ps. In the fortnight the advance has been equal to .a good £3 a head, on the better classes of beef apd. to '£2 10s on the medium and lighter:'sorts. The late arrival of a fiaw "tt|tcWs slowed 'the competition slightly t.o wards the' finish, but values w:ere maintained. Specially good beef rp-nde to 32s 6d, 'the. bulk of good serviceable beef 28s to 31s.
