PREMIER TO CONSULT MINISTER. • r (Per Press ' A SSoc iaif ( 'vpyriaht.) WELLINGTON, September 23. Mr G. W. Forbes promised a large deputation of tomato and stone' fruit growers that he would consult with the Minister df Agriculture regarding the possibility introducing a Bill to provide for the compulsory registration of tomato growers. He also promised to look into the question of regulating the importation of tomatoes from Raratongi, and the importation of cucumbers' and vegetables from Australia. ~ He mentioned that Raratonga was part of the Dominion, similar tfi the Stewart Island, and it was very difficult to put an embargo on produce from one part of the Dominion, but he would look into the question as much Capital was invested in the industry in New Zealand.
