AT ARAPUNI.. (Ter Press Association — Cc'jyright.) HAMILTON, September 21. As a result of a small increase in l the .seepage from the headrace bat Arapuni being noticed yesterday morning, the diversion tunnel was opened last evening to improve the conditions for an inspection by a diver. The eourco of the seepage was discovered to be just outside the collar dam. Remedial, measures have already been • taken. It is expected that t'lic. tunnel will Abased aptin 'to-night, .and Ithat the i water will go over the .spillway again in the early hours of the morning. ; Work on th 6 “Island” dam, which was proposed for just such an emergency as this, will be put in hand immediately. The lowering of the water level and the remedial work will not interfere with hhe generation of power.
