GANDHI’S FAST
EFFECT OVER WHOLE COUNTRY. (United Presa Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) CALCUTTA, September 22. Gandhi was smiling cheerfully at the end of his first day’s fast. Meanwhile there is a wave of emotionalism now sweeping the country. Hundreds of Indians of ,all castes and creds are fasting in sympathy with Gandhi. Even the political prisoners are declining to take food. SIGNS OF EXHAUSTION.
