HEROIC ATTEMPTS
TO .SAVE DROWNING MAN. (Per Press Association Copyright.) WELLINGTON, September 21. Th e attempts of two young men to save a -drowning man were commended by Qoroner McNeil, at the inquest into the death of' William Black-lidge, aged 21, who lost his life when a canoe overturned in Evan’s Bay on- the 27th of August. Deceased’s companion, Maurice Bennett and a passer-by, James Bowman, both entered ti’.ie cold water to assist the deceased-
