PERJURY CHARGE

As the sequel to a street accident and a subsequent 'successful claim for damages, (Ernest Cheadle, aged 30, a carrier and contractor, was charged to-day with perjury. It is alleged that he was in Symonds St. at 1 P-m----on February 23, and saw an accident, whereas, in fact, he was not there and did not se e the accident. He gave this evidence on behalf of a pedestrian named Karews who was ,awarded £lll6 and c°sts again-t a ’motor truck driver named Halton.
