Lyons, announced to-day ( 'the terms o the new sugar agreement in the House of Representatives. He said the retail price.. of sugar, which was being reduced by one halfpenny per pound to fourpende per pound as from January Ist next, wodld save housewives a million pounds per year, and manufacturers approximately £300,000. There would also he an automatic reduction in the special contribution by the sugar industry of the fruit industry.
