The chain letter, maniac has again made his appearance in the town, ana in one instance there was double postage to pay. It is one of those foolish actions that .causes . quite a lot of trouble that is unnecessary and of no use and should be promptly stamped out by no notice being, taken of the epistles. -
The summary of banking returns published in the 'current- issue of “T'.e Australasian Insurance ,«nd Banking Record” shows that the: average deposits held by the eleven banks trading in Australia and New Zealand during the quarter ended '3oth June 1932 totalled £332,372,041. .. Advances and securities (including Government and Municipal securities) for the sam e period totalled £333,006,355. Reference to the figures under these .headings for the June quarter 1931 discloses that at date deposits were running at £316 - 079.745 and advances and securities at £321,036,546.
