WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. At the weekly, meeting last evening at Greymouth it was decided to make a, donation to the Auckland Union, with the object of assisting a subscription being taken up for Mrs Palmer The Blackball junior club wrote asking the Union to endeavour ro arrange a curtain 'raiser match for it if Coast play a match with Canterbury in Christchurch this year. The matter was held over meanwhile. The Westland. Sub-Union wrote offering congratulations on Saturday’s success. The Sub-Union advised that the Excelsor team would be prepared to play the ..Star team on Saturday next for the’trophy recently presented for competition between the leading teams, of each district. It was decided that the West Coast team should go to Christchurch to play the Canterbury representatives on Friday., September 30th, and return on tlj’p -night of October Ist, on condition tl)at sleeping carri could be obtained on the trains, and that the terms suggested are accepted by tue Canterbury Union.
Mr J. Guy was appointed manager of the West Coast team to play the Wellington B team at li'iUy Park next Wednesday, the West Coast team to assemble at the Para Foul at 2 15 p.m.
