U.S. WAR BONUS
OVERWHELMING VOlfp IN FAVOUR (United Presn Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) PORTLAND (Oregon), Sept. 15. Despite a warning that was reiterated by President Hoover yesterday, that it would be fatal to the recovery of the country, the American Legion iGanlventioai ito-day has voted overwhelmingly in favour of the cash pay meat of the war bonus.
Although a motion of censure o n the President for the recent eviction of the bonus (airmy from Washington was known to be- contemplated, none originated. The American Legion Convention, incidentally approved of the immediate repeal of the Volstead Act, an of the submission for the repeal of the Eighteenth' Amendment.
