SEDITION CHARGE
AGAINST BRISB ANE NEWSPAPER j EX-N.Z. JOURNALIST INVOLVED,: (Australian Press Association.) < BRISBANE, Sep. 15. 1 To-day the Court again had before 1 it the adjourned charge against the former Christchurch, Neiv Zealand journalist/' Martin Reading, -a-nd George Melton, .the editor and publisher respectively of the “Brisbane Telegraph,” of having published seditious matter uhdef the heading “Premier versus People,” wherein a contributor, who signed himself “J. Martin” suggested that, the premier of Queensland _Mir Forgaii Smith—must be-in sympathy with Communism, or otherwise he -would’ not laiMow Communist -processions. The letter also urged the formation of a “New Guard” and urged a refusal to pay taxes, adding: ‘The peoplet have the Government at their mercy, if only they have the courage to act.” The ease"-was furtjiieir adjourned till aepitembeih^od.
