MEN’S TRIAL FOR OPPOSING IT. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, September 14. After a retirement of seven hours, at Newcastle, the jury found not guilty eighteen of the thirty men charged with assault and obstruction of police, during an eviction, on June 14 last. The jury was locked up for the night deliberating on other cases. In announcing the acquittals,, the foreman; said that in the opinion ot •the kj-urjf, there was not sufficient evidence to convict the eighteen accused.
