Sii* Robert Horne, in a speech at Dunblane, referred to the" success of the British loan conversion operation. He said .that 'the anticipation of a period of cheap money had already brought a now spirit 'of confidence into commence and industry, and it' only required''th© clearing up of certain political problems,, to set 'the world going again upon a newi course of prosperity. The Ottawa Conference had brought better prospects to all of the countries of the British Commonwealth of Nations, He emphasised the heavy' sacrifices which were involved in the measures token by the National Government to meit th© crisis. He urged that relief must sicon be given to the hard-pressed taxpayer .
