Recent statistical information published 1 shows that during the year ended March 31st., 1932, the estimated population of New Zealand increased by 13,693, equal to -.91 P<>r cent. of the population at the beginning of the fiscip.l year. The population -other than Malorij, comprised 1 13,421, with an increase ratio of .86 per cent., and Maori population 1272, or 1.87 per cent. The other age groups range in number between 25,000 and 95,000, and it is interesting to note that there are 3052 pett-de over the ' age of 85. At April Ist. there were 577,607 persons ma,rrie|d in the Dominion, and 10,414 legally sepa-ratl.-d -or divorced, no fewer than 70,8,.;} being widowed. Elarlv lharriages were contracted by six girls and one hoy, all of whom were wed a:.d divorced between the ages ef 16 and 21.
