DEATH PRESUMED

WOMAN WHO DISAPPEARED IN 1925.

AUCKLAND, September 9,

The extraordinary disappearance of Mrs Daisy- Elizabeth iLittle from Auckland more than seven years ago had its sequel in the Supreme Court, when Mr Justice Herd min' issued an order granting leave to presume her death. On January 21st., 1925, .Mrs Little left for the south by the Main Thunk express, her daughter being present at the station to see her off. From that time all trace of her had been lost by her husband and daughter and diligent enquiries by the police, Statistical Department, and by means- of 'advertisement have failed to produce any result.

Counsel in the case said that there had never been any trouble In the home, and Mw Little was of an affectionate disposition, so that the relatives felt convinced she would have communicated with them had she been alive. The application was made on behalf of her daughter, Joyce Cecile Little, now over 21, to whom there had been left by her mother a small sium in the Post Office Savings Bank, to be available when she became of ag&.
