on Dawson Road, assisting with the construction of the new three course concrete pipe culvert on Lower Kokatahi Road, also with the construction of and cutting manuka scrub for the Kokatahi bridge protection, cleaning drains 'and; repairing Back Creek Road assisting the bridge foreman in the renewal of defective decking, erection of- new handrailing, struts, and standards, alAp placing traffic planking on Harris Greek Bridge No 4, clearing and cleaning watertables on Hokitika Hau Hau and Hau Hau Roads, clearing Arthuretown Road, reopening drain South Hokitika, removing trees and forming, a portion of Mananui Hoad through Golf Links, also constructing two small pipe, culverts on the road between Mahinapua Creek bridge and J. Kelly’s residence, also filling gravel for- approaches to Harris Creek bridge No 4, Koiteraugi.
SOUTHERN RIDING. The resident roadman at Hari Hari, assisted by unemployed labour attended to repairs to Petersen, Wanganui Flat roads, and drains Petersen read, also lower end of Wanganui Flat Road, passing through W. Berry’s property. Unemployed labour assisted to fill gravel, widep the cutting, ah] improve the grade oft Ruatapu Road diversion which has been open for traffic for weeks. Unemployed labour was also engaged in clearing Okarito domain, levelling and grading Wailio domain, repairing Okarito road, Three Mile Track, Waitang* Track, and cleaning Evans Road drains. Casual’ labour,Was employed for two days at Dry Cheek, Poeruo Road.
