Earth tremors

GISBORNE, September 12
A series of earthquake shocks varying in intensity was experienced in the coastal districts north of Tdlaga Bay yesterday, though there, was only one, a slight tremor,- in Gisborne about 5.15 a.m. There was no quake at Toidga Bay, .hut" at Tokomaru Bay a severe shock was felt at 4.18 a.m. and followed' by four minor tremors in the next 10 minutes, and a further tremor at 1 p.m. At Ruatoriia there were sharp shocks at '5.15 a.m., 12.30 p.m., and 4 p.m.,' at Tikitiki a severe shock at £’.4o a.m., at Te Araroa a fairly severe shock at 5.25 a.m., and only one slight tremor at Opotiki about 5:40 a.m. No damage was caused' anywhere.
