There is a heavy gale thrashing the New South Wales coastal districts. The seas are still rising.

Shipping has been warned, and all movements at Newcastle and Port Kenibla. have been abandoned to-day. Sydney Heads tit midday reported squalls, blinding rain and fifty mile per hour wind.
