GISBORNE, Sep. 10.

Actuated by a desire to foster closer settlement, the Gisborne Harbour Board lias decided on a change of policy regarding leasing its 55,000 acre endownment property at Tauwharepara on the East Coast. The lease of a block of 18,000 acres expires next month and instead of offering a re- * newal as one section, the Board will sub-divide the property into a number j .■ - of areas ranging from 1600 to 5000?- ' acres on long term leases which will be sold by auction. The property'is situated about fifteen miles from Tolago Bay, and comprises typical coast sheep country, including some of the best of the Board’s holdings. It was. originally standing bush land, but is now all fully improved.
