The death has occurred at Wellington of the Hon. E. H. Clark, Chairman of Committees of the Legislative Council. He wks born at Palmenstpn in 1870 and was prominently connected} With local bodies for many years. Inquiries made reveal that the condition ofi Athol Crowe Potter, the victim of the Ross shooting affray, who lies at Westland Hospital, was yesterday very serious, his condition being very low. A trans-alpine trip was made by Mr A. Nancekivell in his Spartan aeroplane on Saturday last. Mrs Nancekiv.il accompanied him as passenger, thus achieving the distinction of being the first lady to fly across the Southern Alps. At the Magistrate’s Court at Greymou'jh vqm Saturday morning, before Mr \V. Meldrum, S.M., Thomas David Thomas, alias. Thomas David, .aged 31. pleaded guilty to the theft of a motor tube, valued at 12s 6d, the property of Baillie and Neville and Coy. He was convicted and ordered to comeup for sentence if called upon within twelvemonths.
