The safe Was discovery above Mf ‘; G L Shipley’s -farm, by Mr D. 'Camipbellf -*sbo comhltlnicated -withMr Lohrey.
The safe, when found, was minus '•the ;.£SO, although the thieves had left r ledgers, cheque books and other documents behind. The money had apparently been extracted by outting opt the back of the safe, .with a Chisel. ■Ckmijfiderable "time had evidently -been •takefa, .as the outside of the safe was miatkedf in several places where the chisel had failed to cut the metal. '• The £afe was well rusted as'a result 1 of its -six months’ exposure, and the content! were also spotted by rain and rust.
