ADDINGTON 'STOCK SATE

CHRISTCHURCH, September 8,

Values in the fat cattle, fat sheep and ‘store sheep sections at the Addington market were easier. The entry comprised approximately 340 head, 40 more than last week. There was a i small representation of Southland cattle and a draft from the West Coast, all prime sorts. The entry of late held been more than the trade could absorb up till' last week, and apparently the smaller entry a wee]: ago was of little assistance in stimulating the demand and there was a further easing to-day. Occasional light well-finished bodies showed ho decline, but the heavy cattle, of which there was a fair representation, were down, bv about 10s a head. Cows and light heifers met with a very sluggish demand at a similar recession.

Best heavy steers sold up to £ll. prime £9 17s 6d to £lO 7s 6d; medium £8 Is fid to ££9 2s 6d ; plain £6 5s to £7 2s 6d ; inferior from £3 12s 6d. Best heavy heifers sold to £8 17s 43 ; prime. £6'lss to £7 10s; medium £5 'ss to £5 17s fid; heavy cows, to £8 17s 6d ; prime £5 17s 6d to £6 12 6d; medium £4 15s to £5 2s 6d ; inferior from £3 IBs,
