ADDINGTON 'STOCK SATE

Values in the fat cattle, fat sheep and ‘store sheep sections at the Addington market were easier. The entry comprised approximately 340 head, 40 more than last week. There was a i small representation of Southland cattle and a draft from the West Coast, all prime sorts. The entry of late held been more than the trade could absorb up till' last week, and apparently the smaller entry a wee]: ago was of little assistance in stimulating the demand and there was a further easing to-day. Occasional light well-finished bodies showed ho decline, but the heavy cattle, of which there was a fair representation, were down, bv about 10s a head. Cows and light heifers met with a very sluggish demand at a similar recession.
Best heavy steers sold up to £ll. prime £9 17s 6d to £lO 7s 6d; medium £8 Is fid to ££9 2s 6d ; plain £6 5s to £7 2s 6d ; inferior from £3 12s 6d. Best heavy heifers sold to £8 17s 43 ; prime. £6'lss to £7 10s; medium £5 'ss to £5 17s fid; heavy cows, to £8 17s 6d ; prime £5 17s 6d to £6 12 6d; medium £4 15s to £5 2s 6d ; inferior from £3 IBs,
.A slightly larger yarding of vealers came' forward, hut the quality was -very poor. Anything kiliable brought late rates. The top price was £4 Bs. - A substantial yarding of fat sheep came forward, and again included a large proportion of good stuff. Values from the outset were 'down .about a shilling a head all round. The spring lamb pens contained an entry of 45, a good proportion of them being in excellent condition. They sold on about the same basis as last week, but only the best were in regular demand. Top price was 27s 3d, paid for
The store sheep market suffered a relapse, values easing by from Is to Is 6d a head, and in sonic cases more. Values were: gonnd-month open-wool’ed owes 8s 6d to 10s 3d, *omid-mouth fine-woo'led ewes 8s to 8s 9d, sound and failing mouth iriwes 'ss 6d to 7 " fid. acred ewes 3 S 10J to ss, ewe'* and lamb« (all 'o,,ntecl) 3s lOd +o 4s 3d, good mixed-sox bpcrcnetsi to 11s. There wn a large yarding of fat piw, esoeciallv norkera. The market was easier.
