EAST PRUSSIAN AND POLAND.
(Received this day at 10.25 a.m.) \ BERLIN, September 6,
Herr Schleicher in an interview with a “Koenigsberg” newspaper, makes another blunt pronouncement of the military intention, declaring that Germany will carry out any measures necessary for national defence under all circumstances, emphasising the last two words.
“Tell the East Prussians that we shall defend their territory to the last man, using the sea route, if necessary, to supply East Prussia, which is separated by the Danzig ‘corridor’ with all means essential to defence.” Addressing journalists attending the army manoeuvres, Herr Schleicher said that East Prussia in all must receive equality of armaments with'her neighboors. She was particularly menaced by an enemy, presumably meaning Poland.
