HUGHES DEFEATS' OXLEY.
AUCKLAND, Sep. 6.
fl/iere was a, /proiffessional lightweight contest here to-night under the control of tli© Northern Boxing Association, between Archie Hughes, the featherweight' champion of New South Wales and Ted 'Oxley of 'Pahiatua. It proved the most sparkling bout seen in Auckland for some years. Hughes was declared the winner at the end of the fifteen rounds on points.
