CONCILIATION COUNCIL
TAILORING DISPUTE.

WELLINGTON, September 6.
The Conciliation Council, considering the Wellington' tailoring dispute, resumed to-day. The workers representative said a meeting of the union had directed him to press for £4 15s per week for tailors and £4 10s foi pressers less ten per cent, in both cases.
The employers agent, Mr Mount,ioy, said the-'demand was a bit over tile edge. It could not be argued that a tailor , was. any mor© skilled than other tradesmen. The employers were prepared to offer £4 10s and £4 os, less ten per cent.
After a retirement, the workers rejected this offer, but agreed to accept £4 12s 6d and £4 7s 6d. This proposal was rejected by the' employers and the Council adjoin ned till the afternoon to enable the parties to, further consider the matter.
