TROTTING CUP
ONE CONTEST FAVOURED
STAKE OF £2OO MENTIONED
CHRISTCHURCH, August 25
Considerable interest is being taken :n the conditions for the New Zealand Trotting Cup, to be decided in November. An opinion that appears to be favoured is that one ’straight race will be held, for horses assessed to do 4mm 26sec or faster. A stake of £2OOO is also freely mentioned. Looking down the list ‘.of eiigibleg for a 4min 26sec
'.lass on 'thle beds stated, it would ap : ' pear that only fourteen horses would be nominated. Having been changed over, to the trotting gait, it is thought unlikely that Wraokler will be entered; and Je\ve! Pointer would also be an unlikely:;; competitor.
