An, unusual, distressing m ; hap caused the -death of Mavis Laura Simpson, aged 11, of Maungatua, yestcidaj afternoon. She left home to visit a neighbour -about a quarter of a. mi e away. About 1-i hours’ later her el del r ister went to see what had detained her and found nobody at home at the neighbours, and searching, discovered the body of Mavis hanging - from & window, ithe sash of which rested -on her neck. Apparently the child had opened it to look through, and the window, which is not on rollers, hay i a ,en, strangling. lifer.— v.r't" V~'
