The constable spoke to accused' and found that he was in an advanced state of intoxication and that he was not able tp; grasp fully the 'meaning of questions him Accused told the constable that lie bad had two or three beers. The taxi driver, the senior-sergeant added, noticed accused approaching in a ziz-zap manner and kept well out of his way. but at the intersection* of Glenmore and Crieff Streets accused took a sudden turn and collided with the taxi, send- i ing it into a telegraph ipost.
