The recent advance in the price of gold represents a substantial benefit to mining companies. The Golden Point Company early in July forwarded ••r package of 70oz 17dwt 12grs (part ef the June return) to London, where it arrived early last week. It netted £429 3s 6d, or £6 Is 6d ail ounce, premium and exchange included. A peree! sent the previous month to -San -Francisco netted £5 16s 6d an ounce, but the price of gold advanced approximately 6s an, omiee between the two periods; * -
