The hockey ' match Aon Gass Square on Saturday;, af terna§ns teams representing -Wesley £ Ladies ’ 'Hockey Club of and Hokitika Ladies’ Hockey Club -htt'jr&ieted much interest, and resulted in a win for Hokitika by four goals to nil.’ . The play was fast throughout, first' half-Hokitika •scored a goal aboiit half way through. TiSere -had’ b^uiitp 'and doim with the advantage in favour of the home team when Miss Hall came with a fast run' up tliecentrb of the ' field to miss the goal by a- foot, after. having.beaten the opposition. Soon after.- ftorti another melee in . the .circle tihe- same player shot a fine goal. Wesley livened up and Hokitika were busily defending for some time, onlysturdy , defence holding off the visitors; ' - Their play shifted to. the other end Miss Dowell narrowly missed scoring, ’half time coming with Hokitika' leading by 1 to 0. . ‘ .
