ELDERLY MAN KILLED

AUCKLAND August 18.
Fatal injuries were .received .by Mr H. L. DartnaJj!, of Christchurch wife was very seriously injured, whjfu they were struck by a motor vehicle at the corner of Balmoral and Mount Eden Roads shortly after., seven o’clock this evening. Mr Dart-natH 'receivedsevere -head injuries, ■ and was dead upon arrival at the 1 .hospital, and Mrs Dartnall received head and- internal injuries, fractured ribs and a froctui’fe of; the left leg. Mr and Mrs Dartnall who are both elderly, were in Auckland..on a visit to Mr Dartnall’s sister, Mrs J. 'Ren> toil, of Balmoral Road- Deceased was formerly * a well-known business man at Spfingston, Canterbury, aged about SO. ’,pisjvife’s age is over 7Q-
