CHINESE BOYCOTT
JAPAN ENTERS A PROTEST. (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—. Copyright.) SHANGHAI, August 17.^. The boycott situation here took ’ a turn yesterday, when the Japanese Counsul-General strongly protested to General Wu Te Chen, Mayor of Greater Shanghai, against the activities of the “Bloody Group for the Extermination of Traitors.” and the •action of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in endorsing the. agitation for the strengthening of the boycott. The protest demands the suppression of all such movements. It follows the lines fo similar action taken prior to the disastrous events in January and February.
