PUBLICATION OF RETURNS. V. y;.... (Per Press Association- Copyright.} WELLINGTON, August 18. The practice of publishing the New Zealand unemployment returns weekly has been in operation for, a 'considerable time. It is now to be discontinued, according to a decision by the Unemployment Board, which is endorsed by the Acting-Minister of Employment. In future the returns are to be issued each month. The publication of the figures was stopped over two years ago, 'but it was revived when Mr Smith took office as Minister of Labour in tn® United Government. Since then the figures have been given the public each week. It is understoord ths opinion is held that a more comprehensive and reliable Teturn can be furnished monthly than can be compiled once a week.
